The movie ‘Kotee’, which is set to release this Friday, is already making waves with its trailer and songs. Daali Dhananjay appears as ‘Kotee’, an ordinary driver who dreams of earning one crore rupees without cheating or hurting anyone, to take good care of his family.
While Kotee’s mother’s character is played by Thara, Pruthvi Shamanur and Thanuja Venkatesh play the roles of his brother and sister, respectively. Another highlight of the movie ‘Kotee’ is these two new talents. At the recent trailer release event, Daali Dhananjay and Thara expressed their appreciation for the performances of these new talents.
Emerging actor ‘Pruthvi Shamanur’ has already begun his film journey with the movie ‘Padavi Poorva’ directed by Hariprasad Jayanna. In ‘Kotee’, he plays the role of ‘Nachchi’, Kotee’s beloved brother. He exudes care free energy, his days are filled with
laughter, shared meals, and playful banter with siblings. He brings joy to his family with his
optimistic outlook on life and his ability to find humour in even the simplest of moments. Thanuja Venkatesh, who has a theatre background, plays the role of Kotee’s sister ‘Mahathi’. This is her debut film role.
Speaking about his role in the movie, Pruthvi Shamanur said, “Nachchi is a small yet an impactful role. I am very happy to have gotten the opportunity to be part of such a big film.”
Thanuja Venkatesh, who plays the role of Kotee’s sister, shared her excitement: “I have acted as Kotee’s sister ‘Mahathi’. It is an important role. It felt like a part of a real family while shooting with Dhananjay anna, Tharamma, and Pruthvi.”
Director of the movie, Param, said, “Pruthvi Shamanur, who has already acted as a hero in the movie ‘Padavi Poorva’, loved and accepted the role of ‘Nachchi’. You will surely enjoy two of his scenes very much. This is Thanuja’s first film, and her performance brings a lot of life to the character. She is a talented actress.”
Alongside Daali Dhananjaya, Moksha Kushal will star as the lead actress and Ramesh Indira as antagonist. Other veteran actors like Rangayana Raghu, Thara Anooradha, Sardar Satya appear in prominent roles. The cast also includes Thanuja Venkatesh, Pruthvi Shamanur, Abhishek Shrikanth, Vijay Shobharaj Pavoor, and others.
The film features five songs, with songs composed by Vasuki Vaibhav and lyrics written by Yogaraj Bhat and Vasuki Vaibhav. Nobin Paul, known for his work on ‘777 Charlie,’ has scored the background music. The film is edited by Pratheek Shetty, known for his work in ‘Kantara.’ The cinematography is by Arunbhrama, a well-known cinematographer in television.
The film is written and directed by Param, who has been instrumental in shaping Colors Kannada for decades. Produced by Jio Studios, Kotee will hit theatres on June 14th.
