Nirdigantha, the theatre incubator and the brainchild of multilingual star actor Prakash Raj, celebrated its first anniversary with great enthusiasm and grandeur at K Shetty Halli in Srirangapatna. The event highlighted the milestones achieved over the past year and outlined the ambitious plans for the future.
The anniversary celebration began with the release of the Nirdigantha yearbook, inaugurated by Dr. Vijayamma. The occasion was further marked by the poster expo of the works of one year productions of Nirdigantha and the launch of Nirdigantha’s official website, unveiled by the Green Oscar winners Krupakar and Senani.
Actor Prakash Raj took the stage to brief the audience about Nirdigantha’s work over the past year. He highlighted key projects such as Shalaranga and Shala Rangavikasa, which focus on integrating theatre with education. These projects involve 15 dedicated theatre artists who are working tirelessly to bridge the gap between education and theatre. Additionally, the Rangavikasa initiative aims to bring forth innovative ideas from young directors, fostering a new wave of thought in theatre.
Nirdigantha’s achievements extend beyond these projects, with the organization conducting both national and international workshops and special programs throughout 2023-24. Prakash Raj also introduced the core team of Nirdigantha along with all the members working in all the various projects, praising Dr. Shripad Bhat for his invaluable contribution to making Nirdigantha a creative hub and assembling a dynamic team.
The event was graced by the presence of several notable personalities, including Hanur Krishnamurthy, K Y Narayanaswamy, actors Kishor and Achyutha Kumar, B Suresh, Kavitha Lankesh, Shashidhar Adapa, and Vishukumar. Their presence added to the significance of the celebration, underscoring the importance of Nirdigantha in the theatre community.
The one-year anniversary of Nirdigantha was not just a celebration of past achievements but also a beacon of the exciting future that includes international conferences and theatre festivals, Children Theatre festivals and many more.
