After a muted six months, KFI seeks revival with Dhananjaya’s “Kotee”

Dhananjaya, fondly known as the “Natarakshasa” among Kannada audiences, is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film “Kotee,” which holds significant importance in his career trajectory.

For multiple reasons, “Kotee” stands out as a pivotal film in Dhananjaya’s career. After being in production for just over a year since its commencement in May last year, the film is all set to hit screens on June 14th, having completed all aspects of production work. This marks a significant milestone as it is one of Dhananjaya’s biggest-budget films following his full-fledged hero roles. Being the maiden Kannada venture of a major production house like “Jio Studios,” the selection of Dhananjaya as the lead actor has brought immense joy to his fans. Additionally, the extensive shooting schedule spanning over 85 days across Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Chikkamagaluru makes it the film shot for the longest duration in Dhananjay’s filmography.

In the first half of the year, where the Kannada industry witnessed a dearth of major successes, “Kotee” emerges as a crucial win to revive the industry. The film has already generated buzz through its trailers and songs, depicting a raw and authentic Kannada narrative.

Playing the role of a hardworking driver without any deceit or malice, Dhananjaya embodies the aspirations of a common middle-class man. The teasers and songs provide assurance that “Kotee” will resonate with audiences from all walks of life.
