Dhruva Sarja’s much-anticipated action spectacle, Martin, helmed by AP Arjun, is poised to redefine the boundaries of Indian cinema. Initially conceived as a pan-India venture, this adrenaline-pumping film now aspires to conquer the global stage. With a grand release planned for October 11 in over 13 languages, Martin is set to embark on a groundbreaking journey across international territories.
Producer Uday Mehta envisions Martin as a trailblazer in the Indian film industry. By forgoing the customary delay in overseas releases for pan-India films, Mehta aims to capitalize on the film’s global appeal from day one. “We are charting uncharted waters with simultaneous releases in multiple languages,” he asserts, adding that while Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi are confirmed, they are actively exploring opportunities in Bengali, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Korean.
The film’s ambitious reach extends beyond these languages. Mehta reveals keen interest from Japanese distributors and plans to unveil Martin in Dubai across five Indian languages, with an Arabic version on the horizon. The film’s potential is also being evaluated in Spanish-speaking regions and Russia. “We are leaving no stone unturned,” Mehta emphasizes.
A landmark event is scheduled for August 5 in Mumbai, where the Martin trailer will be unveiled in a dazzling 13-language extravaganza for international media. A day prior, on August 4, the Kannada trailer will make its grand entrance at Bengaluru’s Veeresh Theatres.
Dhruva Sarja exudes confidence in Martin’s universal appeal. “While the pan-India trend is gaining momentum, Martin is taking it a step further by going global,” he declares. The actor is convinced that the film’s high-octane action sequences and gripping drama will resonate with audiences worldwide.
Director AP Arjun views Martin as more than just a film; it’s a symbol of Indian cinema’s innovative spirit and resilience. With its audacious vision, Martin seeks to enthrall global cinephiles with a cinematic experience that defies boundaries.
The film boasts a stellar cast including Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain, Sukrutha Wagle, Achyuth Kumar, and Nikitin Dheer, with Satya Hegde’s cinematography and Ravi Basrur’s music adding to the spectacle.
Despite facing production hurdles, including a three-year delay and setbacks with VFX vendors, the Martin team remains resolute in their commitment to the October 11 release date. Producer Uday K Mehta shares the challenges they overcame, including legal action against the initial VFX team, and their determination to deliver a world-class product.
A global press meet in Mumbai will gauge interest in dubbing rights, aiming to align international and Indian releases as closely as possible. While simultaneous foreign releases might be challenging, the team is committed to minimizing delays.
Martin is set to make waves in the West Bengal and Bangladesh markets with its Bengali dubbed version.
The digital trailer launch is scheduled for August 5 at 5:55 pm, preceded by a special theatrical preview on August 4 at Veeresh Theatre in Bengaluru, where tickets will be available soon.
