Sandalwood icon Shivarajkumar is all set to play the role of a teacher in his upcoming family entertainer A for Anand. The film was officially launched with a traditional muhurat ceremony held at Bande Mahakali Temple in Bengaluru on Friday. The ceremony was marked by a symbolic first clap from producer Geetha Shivarajkumar, while a child operated the camera for the opening shot—setting the tone for a film that centers around children and education.
A special press conference followed the muhurat, where children took the spotlight. They welcomed the guests and entertained the audience with songs, highlighting the film’s child-centric theme.
Speaking at the event, Shivarajkumar revealed that this is his second collaboration with director Srini, following their successful project Ghost. “Srini and I have been friends for over 15 years. He always had this story in mind, and now everything has come together. The story of A for Anand is about guiding children through the right kind of education, without pressure,” said the veteran actor. He also noted that the film will feature six songs, adding a musical richness not seen in his recent works. The title “Anand” is a tribute to his mother and symbolizes the happiness the film aims to bring to young viewers.
Producer Geetha Shivarajkumar shared her excitement, saying, “I’ve always wanted to produce a film for children. Today, education often comes with pressure, and this film will show how it can be imparted with love and joy. Parents too will take away valuable lessons from this movie.”
Director Srini described A for Anand as a complete family entertainer. “After the action-packed Ghost, this is a completely different journey. It’s a film that connects emotionally with kids and their families. It’s a challenge, but one I’m excited for,” he said. The film is scheduled to go on floors in October, with shooting planned in Sagara and Shimoga.
Produced under the Geetha Pictures banner—previously behind films like Veda and Bhairathi Rangal—A for Anand brings back the technical crew from Ghost, including Mahen Simha (cinematography), Deepu S Kumar (editing), Prasanna VM (dialogues), and Vasuki Vaibhav, who will compose the music.
With a heartfelt message, emotional depth, and a strong focus on children, A for Anand is poised to be a touching film that draws families back to the theaters.
