Actress Samyuktha Hegde and her friends were allegedly attacked by Kavitha Reddy and a group of men while they were working out at Agara park in HSR Layout on 4 September. On Tuesday, Kavitha Reddy has been arrested by the police and released on bail.
A complaint was filed by actress Samyuktha Hegde against Kavitha Reddy, an social activist and others with the HSR police. An FIR was registered. Now Kavita Reddy has been arrested.
As the actress Samyuktha was surrounded by walkers at the Agara Lake who objected to her dress as obscene. While she was practising hula hoop at the park along with her two friends.
The accused alleged that they will make a news that actress used drugs and had come to the park. The riot scene was videographed by Samyuktha and shared it on her social networking site. The same video is taken as proof. As accused Anil Reddy and others were absconding, police said.
On Sunday, Kavitha Reddy had sent out a apology to the actress. Also on her social media, Kavitha Reddy stated, “I have always opposed Moral Policing. I realize that my actions were construed as such. An argument ended up in me reacting aggressively as well, it was a mistake.”
She added, As a responsible citizen n progressive woman, I own up to and sincerely apologise to Samyuktha Hegde and her Friends.
However, on Tuesday the actress Samyuktha says she is not interested in pursuing a case against Kavitha Reddy, as she respects her seniority and doesn’t want to traumatise her. But she will take up the case against Anil Reddy and others who have threatened her.
