Looks like the dubbing era has started in kannada cinemas. If Rajinikanth’s movie ‘Petta’ releases in kannada simultenously on its tamil release date, it will be the first dubbed movie releasing. However, everyone wants the superstar Rajini to dub his voice being a localite from Bengaluru.
According to reports, The dubbing of Petta in Kannada is going on and Rajinikanth is dubbing for it. While the movie is releasing simultenously in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and now in Kannada too.
The Kannada film industry has, so far, resisted the idea of dubbing the films and TV serials of other languages in Kannada. Since the 1960s, a section of the film fraternity and pro-Kannada groups have been of thinking that doing so will hamper the growth of Kannada cinema.
Now, however, the industry seems to have woken up to the benefits of permitting dubbed films in Karnataka. The Yash-starrer is the first Kannada film to be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Surprisingly, all the versions have received a warm welcome at the box-office.
