The Kannada film industry is abuzz with anticipation for Nayi Ide Echcharike (“Beware of Dog”), an upcoming suspense-thriller that promises a gripping blend of mystery, emotion and a touch of the supernatural. Headlining the project is Dr Leela Mohan, a medical doctor turned actor-producer whose unique journey from hospital corridors to film sets has already won industry attention.

The film, directed by a fresh creative team, explores loyalty, love and human relationships through the lens of a suspenseful narrative built around the symbolic “beware of dog” motif. Reports suggest it will combine thrilling twists with heart-tugging sentiment, appealing to audiences who enjoy both excitement and emotional depth.

Dr Leela Mohan plays the central role and also backs the film as producer, fulfilling a long-cherished dream to bring a distinctive Kannada story to the big screen. Known previously for appearances in films such as Gadiyara, Road King and Kaurya, he says this project is especially close to his heart because it balances entertainment with meaningful themes.

He is joined by actress Divyashree in the female lead, along with a strong supporting cast that includes Pramod Shetty, Raj Balwadi, Nagendra Urs, Dinesh Mangaluru, Manasa and Chandana. The film’s teaser and songs, released earlier this year, received encouraging feedback on social media and at promotional events attended by film personalities.

According to the makers, Nayi Ide Echcharike has completed censor formalities and is gearing up for a theatrical release later this month. With its intriguing premise, haunting score and an unconventional lead actor-producer at its helm, the film is being hailed as one of the more interesting small-scale Kannada releases of the season.

Speaking about his new venture, Dr Leela Mohan said, “Cinema has always inspired me the way medicine does: both aim to touch lives. Nayi Ide Echcharike gave me a chance to merge passion with purpose, and I hope audiences feel that honesty on screen.”

If the early buzz is any indication, Nayi Ide Echcharike could well turn out to be a dark horse that thrills, moves and surprises Kannada cinema audiences when it opens in theatres soon.
