The Mangalore City Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar has confirmed that another man has been arrested on Saturday, along with Bollywood Dancer Kishore Shetty in drug trafficking case.
Addressing a press conference, the Mangalore Police Commissioner Vikhash Kumar informed that Kishore alias Kishore Aman Shetty (30), a resident of Kulayi and Suratkal resident Akeel Nausheel (28) have been arrested for possessing MDMA (methylene draxy methamphetamine). It is prohibited because it is harmful to health.
CCB police arrested the accused on Saturday morning. The Commissioner said they were trying to bring drugs from Mumbai and sell them in Mangalore. A total of Rs 1 lakh worth of MDMA, Bajaj Discover bike and two mobile phones were seized by the police.
The arrested Akeel was working abroad as a safety officer. He was back here last year. He was buying and selling drugs from cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. Another accused, Kishore Aman Shetty, is a renowned dancer and choreographer who has acted in Hindi films. Along with Akeel, Kishore was also involved in selling MDMA. Both have been arrested for drug possession and consumption, the commissioner said.
We will investigate on the Mumbai Drugs connection and find out the full link and take action against those involved. We also have information on participation at parties and we will review it further, ”he said.
The police will take the accused into custody and trace all the drugs network linked to the case. The case has been registered under the NDPS Act and all aspects are investigated. We have already got some clues, ”the police commissioner said.
Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar, CCB Inspector Shivaprakash, R Nayak, Drug Inspector Ramakrishna, CCB PSI Kabbalraj and others were part of the team in arresting the accused.
