Renowned Kannada filmmaker Hemanth M Rao, known for acclaimed films like Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu and Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, has ventured into short films with his latest production Suruli. Released under his banner Daakshayani Talkies—named after his mother—the 33-minute short film has premiered on YouTube and is receiving positive response for its moving narrative.

Following the success of his debut production Ajnaathavaasi, which impressed both audiences and critics, Hemanth has backed Suruli, directed by Manu Anuram. The short film explores themes of humanity and the subtle ways our everyday actions impact others—often without our knowledge.

Director Manu Anuram, who juggles a corporate job with his passion for filmmaking, has written and directed Suruli. Anuram is no stranger to the short film circuit; his previous works have been screened at various film festivals and praised by juries. It was during one such event that Hemanth Rao discovered Anuram’s work, leading to this creative collaboration.

Adding to the film’s emotional depth is a compelling score by music director Charan Raj. The cast includes Harshil Kaushik, Nidhi Hegde, and Vamshidhar Bhogaraju, with cinematography by Amal Ambika Rajendran and editing by Sam Venkat and Varun Goli.

Suruli stands out as an example of how small incidents in our daily lives can leave a lasting impact on others. With heartfelt storytelling and strong production support, the film is quickly making waves among digital audiences.
