Engineer-turned actor-producer Rohith’s debut, Raktaksha has hit the right notes in north Karnataka where it is declared a hit. He speaks about the success of the film and his future plans.
Q. How does it feel to receive such an overwhelming response, especially from the northern Karnataka region?
A. It feels incredible to see the love and support from the audience, especially in my home region of northern Karnataka. The appreciation and the turnout at the theaters have been beyond my expectations. It’s truly humbling and motivating.
Q. What inspired you to take on the roles of both actor and producer for your first film?
A. I’ve always been passionate about cinema. Being an engineer by profession, I wanted to bring a unique perspective to filmmaking. When the opportunity for Rakthaksha came up, I felt that producing it as well would give me more creative control and help bring my vision to life. It was a challenging but immensely rewarding experience.
Q. What drew you to this genre of action thriller?
A. I’ve always been a fan of action thrillers. The genre allows for a lot of creativity and excitement, both in terms of storytelling and performance. Rakthaksha offered a gripping storyline with plenty of twists, which I found very appealing. Plus, it gave me the opportunity to showcase different facets of my acting skills.
Q. This was Vasudev S.N’s debut as director. How was it working with a first-time director?
A. Despite it being his debut, he had a clear vision and a unique narrative style. We both shared a passion for making something fresh and exciting, and our collaboration was very smooth.
Q. Do you intend to continue balancing both acting and producing?
A. The success of Rakthaksha has definitely encouraged me to pursue more projects in the film industry. I plan to continue acting, and I also have a few ideas in mind for producing new films.
