In Karnataka, Shankar Nag’s birthday is widely celebrated as Chalakara Dinaacharane. Over 200 auto drivers from Basaveshwara Nagar celebrated Chalakara Dinaacharane along with the team of the film Maryade Prashne. Rajeev from the Namma Yatri app also participated in the event.
“Namma Yatri is an app launched to support Kannada drivers. Standing with Kannadigas is our number one goal. That’s why we are here with the Maryade Prashne team, which features a driver character,” said Rajeev.
RJ Pradeepa started Sakkat Studio on Shankar Nag’s birthday in 2017. The organization, which began eight years ago with an acappella tribute to Shankar Nag’s songs, has now grown to the point of producing its own film. The realistic revenge drama Maryade Prashne is Sakkat Studio’s debut film.
In the film, actor Poornachandra Mysuru plays the role of a driver. Auto drivers symbolically welcomed him into their community by putting a khaki coat on him. The event also marked the launch of Maryade Prashne auto stickers.
Speaking on the occasion, Poornachandra Mysuru said, “In this film, I play the role of a driver, portraying the struggles and joys of drivers. Maryade Prashne is a movie that reflects middle-class life, and I believe it will resonate with all working-class people, including drivers.”
The cast of Maryade Prashne includes Teju Belawadi, Sunil Rao, Poornachandra Mysuru, Rakesh Adiga, Shine Shetty, and Prabhu Mundkur. Veteran actors like Nagabharana, Prakash Tumbinadu, Nandagopal, Nagendra Sha, Rekha Kundalagi, Shravan, and Hariharan also play key roles.
The film has five songs, with two already released. Arjun Ramu has composed music for all the songs, with lyrics by Pramod Maravante and Trilok Trivikram. Sandeep Velluri, who has previously worked on Gowli and Charlie, is the cinematographer. The trailer is set to release on November 12.
Produced by Sakkat Studio, led by RJ Pradeepa, who previously gained attention with web series Loose Connection and Honeymoon, the film’s story is written by Pradeepa himself, with screenplay, dialogues, and direction by Nagaraj Somayaji. Maryade Prashne is scheduled to release in theaters on November 22.
