The first look poster of the upcoming Kannada film Nenapaadalu Shaakuntale was unveiled this week, giving audiences an early glimpse into a romantic drama that draws poetic parallels with classical Hindu mythology.
The film revolves around Paartha Saarathi, a young and driven startup founder grappling with heartbreak after the end of his first love. In search of emotional refuge, he travels to his sister’s native town. There, fate leads him to a quaint old library, where he meets a woman whose quiet charm slowly alters the course of his life. What begins as a gentle friendship deepens into an intimate bond, culminating in a passionate night that mirrors the legendary pre-marital union of King Dushyant and Shakuntala from ancient lore. The narrative weaves memory, longing, and love, echoing timeless themes through a contemporary lens.
Nenapaadalu Shaakuntale is directed by Vinay Chandrahasa, who also shapes the film’s nuanced emotional tone. The cinematography is handled by Vishal Kumar Gowda, whose visuals are expected to lend lyrical depth to the storytelling. Editing is by Madhu Thumbakere, while the music is composed by Prasanna Kumar M. S. The film’s songs feature lyrics penned by noted writer Pramod Marvanthe.
The project is produced by Vismaya K, with Bhaskaran Muthuswamy serving as co-producer. Viraaj Kolatlu plays the male lead, Paartha Saarathi, while Kavya Bhagvanth stars as the female lead, bringing to life the character who becomes central to the film’s emotional journey.
With its blend of modern romance and mythological resonance, Nenapaadalu Shaakuntale has already sparked curiosity. The release of the poster on Wednesday is expected to set the tone for what promises to be a reflective and emotionally rich cinematic experience.
