Kannada Big-Budget Film 45 Pushes Release as VFX Work Continues

The release of Kannada cinema’s much-awaited pan-India film 45 has been postponed, with its makers citing incomplete VFX work as the reason for the delay.

Starring Shivarajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B. Shetty in lead roles, 45 marks the directorial debut of music composer Arjun Janya and is produced by M. Ramesh Reddy under the Suraj Productions banner. The film has been in the spotlight since its launch, and fans were eagerly awaiting its Independence Day release, announced earlier through a teaser.

The visual effects are being handled by Canada-based MARZ Studios, a globally reputed company that has worked on more than 500 Hollywood films. This is MARZ’s first Kannada film project, making 45 a milestone for the industry.

Yash Gowda, the VFX supervisor at MARZ, explained, “This film involves one of the highest levels of CGI ever attempted in Indian cinema. Since graphics form the backbone of the story, the work demands more time and precision. We regret the delay but assure viewers that the wait will be worthwhile.”

The team expects VFX to be completed by mid-September, followed by post-production, aiming for a possible release in October. The final release date will be announced officially by the producers soon.
