Fauzi: Prabhas’ Birthday Poster Teases ‘File No. 25’ Character Reveal

Prabhas'

The makers of Hanu Raghavapudi’s period war drama have promised a special video introducing Prabhas’ character on the actor’s 47th birthday.

The makers of Fauzi, starring Rebel Star Prabhas, have unveiled a mysterious new poster on the occasion of the actor’s 47th birthday, teasing audiences with the question, “Who is he?” The announcement, released under the caption “Declassifying File Num: #25”, promises to answer the question through a special video scheduled for release today.

The poster features Prabhas’ profile in a vintage military uniform, embossed on an antique golden coin surrounded by flames. The phrases “Most Wanted Since 1939” and “A Battalion Who Fights Alone” hint at the film’s military setting and the enigmatic identity of its central character.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for the romantic drama Sita Ramam, Fauzi is a period war drama set in 1940s colonial India. Prabhas plays a soldier in a fictional narrative that draws on historical events and the pre-Independence era. The film is expected to present the actor in a different avatar, moving away from the larger-than-life fantasy spectacles associated with some of his recent releases.

The film features Imanvi as the female lead, alongside veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Anupam Kher. Chaithra J. Achar is also part of the cast. The technical team includes composer Vishal Chandrashekhar, cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee, lyricist Krishna Kanth, production designer Sheetal Sharma, visual effects supervisor RC Kamalakannan and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, in association with T-Series Films, the film is presented by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Shiv Chanana. Originally slated for a December 2026 release, Fauzi has been delayed, and the makers are yet to officially confirm a new theatrical release date. The birthday video is expected to offer a glimpse into the film’s story, its historical backdrop and Prabhas’ character.
