The teaser for the highly anticipated Kannada film ‘Super Hit,’ starring the popular comedian Gilli, has been officially released. Gilli, who rose to fame through comedy reality shows and is currently making waves as a contestant on Bigg Boss Kannada, is set to make his debut as a leading man with this feature film.
The film’s team, including director Vijay Anand, held a press conference following the teaser launch to share crucial details about the project. Initial reactions suggest that the ‘Super Hit’ teaser is poised to create a sensation with its next-level comedy, echoing the success of the recent blockbuster Su From So.
Title’s Interesting Backstory
While it is customary for a movie to become a ‘Super Hit’ after its release, this film boldly wears the title with the tagline ‘Running Successfully.’
Director Vijay Anand shared the interesting story behind the title choice during the event. The film’s producer, G. Umesh, despite having faced various ups and downs in his production journey, harboured a persistent dream of producing a “Super Hit” film.
Keeping this aspiration in mind, the director decided to title the movie ‘Super Hit,’ noting that it also perfectly complemented the film’s narrative.
A Thriller Comedy for the New Generation
Vijay Anand, who is the brother of famous lyricist Nagendra Prasad, is energised by the overwhelming support comedy film Su From So received. He expressed similar hopes and confidence for ‘Super Hit,’ which he has crafted in a commercial format with comedy as its central theme.
The director confirmed that all production work has been completed and only the selection of an opportune release date remains. He teased audiences by revealing that the movie contains surprising twists and elements that will astound viewers approximately every ten minutes from beginning to end. He hinted that ‘Super Hit’ is a unique attempt, being the Kannada film industry’s first venture in the Thriller Comedy genre.
The film’s storyline is noted to be highly relevant to today’s youth. The movie features social media comedy star Gaurav Shetty alongside Gilli in the lead roles, with Shwetha starring as the female lead.
Produced by G. Umesh under the Vijayalakshmi Enterprises banner, the film boasts a strong technical team: R.D. Nagarjuna (Cinematography), Sreekanth (Editing), and V. Nagendra Prasad (Lyrics and Music Direction). Veteran lyricist Nagendra Prasad also features in a special role.
