After 140 days, actress Ragini Dwivedi granted bail

Actress Ragini Dwivedi has been granted bail in the case of Sandalwood Drugs case. The actress stay in Parapana Agrahara central jail for about 140 days has come to an end.

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Ragini Dwivedi in a drugs case on Thursday. She was arrested on September 5 and has been in custody since then. The trial court and the Karnataka High Court had earlier rejected bail to her.

The house of actress Ragini Dwivedi was raided by CCB police on charges of drug consumption and supply. The actress was arrested by CCB police after getting marijuana and other narcotics. The other accused, along with actress Ragini, including actress Sanjana Garani, were arrested.

The high court had granted bail to actress Sanjana in the wake of her illness. Ragini’s bail application was rejected. Ragini Dwivedi had moved the Supreme Court challenging the HC order. The Supreme Court adjourned the application hearing last week for a week.

On September 4, Ragini was arrested by CCB police. Cases have been filed against them under the NDPS and IPC Act. Ragini filed an application to the Supreme Court in late November. The bench of Justices RF Nariman, Naveen Sinha and KM Joseph, heard the case filed by the applicant on December 4, had postponed the hearing by giving a notice to the state government and CCB police.
